Aamir Khan

The pain in the neck has eased a bit, but hasn't gone away. Lot of work again today, but that is good. One should be in the habit of working under pressure. Else, one can become complacent.

Want to talk about Aamir Khan today. He is certainly an actor par excellence but he has gone far beyond that. He is left his contemporaries, the so called 'Khan-daan' of Bollywood far behind. While others are focused on the 100 crore, 200 crore etc clubs and are willing to go to any lengths to get into that league, he has shown that he will not compromise on his principles and yet will be able sell his products.

He has now moved into doing programmes which highlight the key issues facing the country in a way no one else has been able to do before with 'Satyamev Jayate'. He is then following it up with lobbying with the government to bring laws to contain these evils. Now he is on a campaign to highlight importance of the vote.

He has kept himself away from the Bollywood rat race and still whenever he wants does a movie which breaks all records like he did with 3 Idiots and now with Dhoom 3. He doesn't go to award functions because he believes they are manipulated and rightly so. He has moved into a sphere which is all his own way above his counterparts. He has broken the mould and still continues to reign.

He has shown that cinema is not just for entermainment, however crass, but it should be clean entertainment with a message. He has proved this over and over again that this will also sell and will actually outlive all others.

He has set the bar very high. He has walked the talk. More power to Aamir !! It can be said about him.........

तू शाहीन  है , परवाज़ है  काम तेरा
तेरे सामने आसमां और भी हैं।

I am sure Aamir will keep flying high like the 'Shaheen' and will keep exploring new 'Aasman'.....

Moving onto Cricket. Indian Cricket fans are still numb with shock at the loss in the WCT20 finals. They will come out of it in a few days and slowly the IPL madness will take over. IPL is like wine, which makes the Indian Cricket fan forget all the pain and hurt which losses in Tests and other Int'l matches caused them. The disease which ails Indian Cricket doesn't go away but IPL just numbs the pain for a while. I am not against IPL. I am just against too much of IPL !! Everything is good only in moderation, too much of everything is bad.
