The holy month of Ramazaan started yesterday here in UK. As Ramazaan is in summer now, the days here are very long. The duration of the fast in UK is nearly 19 hours.
The good thing about Ramazaan in UK is that even though it is summer and the duration of the fast is quite long, one doesn't feel very thirsty compared to India. To fast in summer months in India is really a test.
Insha Allah, I pray to Allah that I am able to keep all the roza this year.
Hopefully, I maybe able to work from home most of the days and hence that will make things easier.
As the duration of the Roza this year in UK has become very long, there is some talk if there can be some Fatwa to follow Saudi to reduce the duration. This is being followed in Scandinavian countries which are closer to the North Pole.One of my cousins Faiz Bhaiya lives in Norway and they follow this Fatwa there. The days in the summer there can become as long as 21 or 22 hours !!
